Task 3 Post 2
For our short drama we would like it to be a comedy but is
also addresses a real problem about mental health. Ben is the main character
and he is constantly effected by his anxiety within his everyday life. Our
story follows an average day for Ben as he tried to leave his apartment and
simply go food shopping. He tried to stick to empty side roads and allies but
is eventually forced onto the main high street because that is where the main
food shop is. Whilst he is on the high street he accidently bumps into a passer-by
and he gets into an altercation. This person haunts Ben and he takes the form
of all Ben negative thoughts until Ben confronts him and realises he needs
professional help. We wanted the final altercation between the two to be funny and
silly but with a serious undertone about mental health and the serious ways it
effects people going about their normal lives. Ben tried to go about a daily routine
of going to the shops but ends up re-evaluating his condition and deciding to
get help. The camera will be focusing on Ben and the way the tries to go unnoticed.
The camera will be mostly in his face watching his reaction to the public with
inner monologues, one positive and one negative telling him that his doing a
great job or making him paranoid that everyone is secretly judging him.
