SHEFFIELD HALLAM UNIVERSITY SOUND SHUS NAME George Allen DATE 24/02/18 EQUIP H5 Zoom/microphone NO TITLE COMMENTS 1 Interview   This wasn’t very clear/hear quite a lot of background noise 2 Atmosphere sound in the main room which was turned into a make shift cafe The sound was clear and we recorded muffled convocations but we could hear the radio quietly in the background. 3 Interview (again) This went better and we can use these sounds.

Sync Sound

For our documentary we will be recording sounds using a H5 Zoom with microphone. But we will also record sound using the camera. This is because we will then have the option of which one to use when we come to editing. We didn’t take a Clapperboard with us so we just simply clapped so that when we were editing and putting the sound with the footage we could easily sync up the sound if we use the recorded sound from the Microphone. We decided to use the sound that was recorded on the camera and boom. This is because the sound was clearer and none of the background sound could be hear. Whereas the sound on recorded on the Zoom picked up a few car horns outside and the interview was a little too quiet.

I liked the way the director used the cutaways to demonstrate what in being said by whoever was being interviewed at the time. For example when a young girl who is 12 is talking about how skating helps her forget about her family being poor and living in poverty. Skating takes her mind of...
